[Bgsa] Endnote questions

I've got a couple questions for those of you that use Endnote. I've got multiple references by Heath et al. 2006. For some reason, Endnote cites these as (Heath et al. 2006a,b, 2006c,d) instead of just (Heath et al. 2006a,b,c,d). Does anyone know how to change the citation to the latter? If I do it by hand, Endnote just changes it back.

Also, is there a way after creating a Word document with embedded references to save the document minus all the Endnote formatting? I'm thinking that might help me deal with the above problem as well as make my files smaller.

Thanks,
Q
