The 2009 Division of Biological Sciences Dean’s Symposium
Evolutionary Biology: From Molecules to Man

The Dean's Symposium, hosted by the Division of Biological Sciences at
the University of California, San Diego, will bring together 14 of the
world's most renowned scientists in the field of evolutionary
biology. The topic of evolution will be highlighted as it coincides
with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the
150th anniversary of the publication of his seminal work, "On the
Origin of Species."

Friday, April 3, 2009
8:00am - 5:00pm
UCSD, Price Center West Ballroom

Keynote Address: James F. Crow
The 2009 Life Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to
Dr. James F. Crow, who, like previous recipients - Sir Francis
Crick, Sydney Brenner, and Stephen Harrison - has made rigorous and
innovative contributions to almost every area of evolutionary biology
and population genetics over a career that has lasted more than 50
years. The Life Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award is presented by
UC San Diego and Merck & Co.
