As per previous announcements (and forewarnings), EH&S will initiate lab 
safety audits starting the morning of Friday, July 8th in Spieth 
Hall.  John Colldaday, EH&S Biosafety Program Specialist, has been assigned 
to perform inspections of the teaching and research labs in Spieth 
Hall.  Laboratory audits for Boyce and ULB will be announced when I am 
advised of the schedule.

In an effort to assist labs in preparing for these audits, EH&S has 
developed a Laboratory Self-Audit Guide which is Appendix E to the Campus 
Chemical Hygiene Plan and can be viewed at the following links:

Please use this document as a tool to prepare and organize your lab in 
advance of the impending examinations.  Historically, the majority of 
violations noted during previous inspections were associated with waste 
management and labeling of secondary containers.
