The EH&S Director at UCOP brought a proposed law to our attention. He is 
asking for comments which he'll compile and provide to the bill's sponsors.

Haz-Mat Managers:
The Legislature of the State of California has proposed AB 990 which 
effective January 1, 2007 would prohibit the use or sale of four chemicals, 
Methylene chloride CAS# 75-09-2 , Perchloroethylene CAS# 127-18-4, 
Trichloroethylene CAS # 79-01-6 and 1-Bromopropane CAS# 106-94-5.

My question to each of you is do you use these chemicals at your facilities 
and what impact would it have on you if this proposed legislation became law?
If you do use them approximately how much of Each per year do you use?
The preamble to the bill states there are Readily available less toxic 
substitutes do you agree with that?
Are there any other concerns?

I will gather the data from each CA facility them consolidate it and Give 
it to UCOPs legislative people....
