Dear Black Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students:

I am writing to invite you to our Juneteenth Celebration. Dr. Thomas Parham
is the keynote speaker.  The title of his talk is: *“Honoring Our Past,
Inspiring Our Future, Fostering Unity” *We are hopeful that some of the
members of the the UCR Black community will join us to welcome him to the
Inland Empire.

Dr. Parham's accomplishments include recent past President of California
State University, Dominguez Hills, past President of the national
Association of Black Psychologists, an unwavering commitment to the African
American community as a licensed psychologist, and for more than 40 years
he has serviced as a scholar, practitioner, and a higher education
administrator (UC Irvine). His life reflects a dedication to excellence,
advocacy, and liberation-centered work. His scholarship and leadership
continue to provide an invaluable blueprint for addressing the
unprecedented challenges impacting our liberty, wellness, and collective
mental health.

The event is scheduled for *Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. at the UCR Alumni Center, located at 3701 Canyon Crest Drive in
Riverside*. Refreshments will be provided. The event is free, and parking
will be conveniently available at no cost.  *Please register using QR code
