Apply now to the Chancellor’s Making Excellence Inclusive  (MEI) Certificate Program.



What is the MEI Program?



The nine-month "Making Excellence Inclusive (MEI) Diversity Certificate Program" will guide participants through a series of learning activities designed to emphasize the commitment to diversity and inclusion as a core value in an increasingly diverse campus environment. The program is developed around the belief that individuals learn most effectively when they discover, understand, and apply their new knowledge to real world situations they face in the university environment.

  *   Workshops - led by leading authorities representing a broad cross-section of diversity topics
  *   Discussion Sessions - participants share their thought on the topic areas
  *   Capstone Projects - create a practical application of the concepts; develop an innovative project that will expand knowledge on a selected diversity topic
  *   Project Presentation - demonstration of participants' understanding of the "Making Excellence Inclusive Diversity Certificate Program"


Eligibility

Eligible participants must have completed their probationary period and have an endorsement for participation from their department.

Time/Place:

This year’s cohort will have a combination of both in person and online (zoom) meeting times. Food will be provided for times that are scheduled in person.

*Session times meet every third Thursday of each month from October 2024 – June 2025

  1.  Thursday, October 17, 2024, 1pm – 5pm (In person)
  2.  Thursday, November 21, 2024, 1pm – 5pm (via Zoom)
  3.  Thursday, December 19, 2024, 1pm – 5pm (via Zoom)
  4.  Thursday, January 16, 2025, 1pm – 5pm (In person)
  5.  Thursday, February 20, 2025, 1pm – 5pm (via Zoom)
  6.  Thursday, March 20, 2025, 1pm – 5pm (via Zoom)
  7.  Thursday, April 17, 2025, 1pm – 5pm (In person)
  8.  Thursday, May 15, 2025, 1pm – 5pm (via Zoom)
  9.  Thursday, June 19, 2025, 1pm – 5pm (In person)



Commitment & Absences:

The expectation for the MEI Program is to attend all sessions. There will be only one excused absence allotted during the 9-month course to earn the certification.
