Hello BFASA Family,

Please see the message below and attached flyer for an upcoming event.

Best,

Please join us for a special presentation by Dr. Shirley Weber<https://www.sos.ca.gov/administration/about>, California Secretary of State, "Pathways Towards Reparations in California," Friday, April 29, 12:30pm via Zoom, as part of the UCR History Department's Sterling Stuckey Lecture Series<https://history.ucr.edu/sterlingstuckeylectures>. As a State Assemblymember, Dr. Weber authored AB-3121, establishing the first-in-the-nation statewide Reparations Task Force to study the consequences of slavery and systemic racism against African Americans in California, to educate the public on its findings, and to develop reparations proposals. As the task force completes the first of its two-year process, Dr. Weber will address her role, and the challenges and next steps towards reparations.
