Hi UCR African American,

The Group is a forum for discussing and responding to community issues that
affect Riverside especially the African-American community.

On Thursday, February 4th, 2021, from 7:00-8:30 a.m. PST, The Group will
host Guest Speaker, Jose Medina, Assembly Member 61st District.

Assembly Member Jose Medina was elected in November 2012 to represent
California's 61st Assembly District, which consists of Riverside, Moreno
Valley, Perris and Mead Valley. He currently serves as chair of the
Assembly Committee on Higher Education. Assemblyman Medina is a former
educator, with over 30 years of classroom experience teaching Ethnic
Studies, Chicano Studies, Spanish and History. He cares deeply about
education and works to champion policies that improve the lives of students
across the state.
