[BFASA] ASP Invitation to Try Jesus, Not Me Program 1/12/21

Greetings BFASA,

I would like to invite you all to join us for our dialogue: Try Jesus, Not Me with Robert Webb on January 12th on Zoom from 6p-7p. This dialogue will explore the unspoken, complex relationship of spirituality, Blackness, and other identities that we hold. Often times,  Black people are all thought to believe in God or another higher power, but what happens when you say, "I'm not religious, but I'm spiritual"? Or what happens when you've been shunned by your religion for having an identity that isn't recognized in your religion? Or when you're told to pray instead of seeking counseling?

The goal of this session is to unpack many of these misconceptions and offer attendees the opportunity to explore this topic as they embark on their own spiritual development. The Zoom information is below:

Information about speaker:

Mr. Webb is the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He serves as the advisor both the Multi-Cultural Greek Council and the National Panhellenic Council; ensuring the support, growth, and development of all chapters. Mr. Webb is also the CEO of By Law Consulting, L.L.C, where he "Empowers people to self-actualize and promotes personal development which holistically enhances one's personal life and endeavors". After earning his bachelor's degree in General Studies from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, he attended Arkansas Tech University where he received a Master of Science Degree in College Student Personnel. Mr. Webb is passionate about student development and enjoys working with students to help them realize their true potential. He is an advocate of life-long learning and believes your best days are always ahead of you if you have the courage to keep moving forward. He has two beautiful daughters, Princess Grace Elisabeth Webb and Princess Hannah Jack Webb, who are his daily motivation to be better than he was the day before.
