Re:       UC-HSI DDI Grant proposals and UC Free Speech grant opportunities


Dear Faculty,

I am forwarding two reminders about funding opportunities from Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Mariam Lam:

1. The UCR DEI Office must sign off on the UC-HSI DDI grant proposals (due Jan 29, 2021) (https://ucop.edu/graduate-studies/_files/uc-hsi-rfp-final.pdf) and see attached. VC Lam has requested not to wait to wait to the last minute to avoid rushing to get the signature.
2. VC Lam has confirmed with UCOP that despite last year's lack of federal HSI designation, UCR does qualify for these UC competitive grants.
3. Faculty should be aware that if they complete their grant proposal drafts early, the UCR HSI Committee is happy to review and provide recommended edits (https://diversity.ucr.edu/hispanic-serving-institution-committee).
