Subject: CNAS Commencement Volunteers

Dear CNAS Colleagues,

I know that each of you continue to work tirelessly to offer our undergraduate students the best possible educational experience that we can provide. While the last few years have been exceptionally challenging, the UCR community is turning the corner - a sense of normalcy is returning!

The most visible example of this will be the return of in-person commencement ceremonies. For the first time in CNAS' history, we will have two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, June 11 at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

To help celebrate this very special day for our graduating students and their families, on their final day at UCR, I ask that each of you consider volunteering at one or both of our commencement ceremonies. Seeing our students through, to the very end, is a special moment we should all share with our students. There are a number of volunteer positions available, from the faculty procession, to checking students in, to serving as an usher, and many more... your presence will make a difference.

You have the option of volunteering at one or both of the CNAS commencement ceremonies:

  *   Saturday, June 11 at 8 a.m.
  *   Saturday, June 11 at 6 p.m.

To help incentivize commencement volunteering:

  * Staff volunteers will receive one day off for each ceremony worked. Your day(s) off should be used during the summer (by September 30, 2022) and must be coordinated with your supervisor.
  * Graduate student volunteers will receive a $75 Target or Starbucks gift card. And... the grad program with the highest percentage of graduate student volunteers will be treated to lunch from UCR Citrus Grove Catering delivered by me!

To volunteer, please fill out this form by Monday, April 11 and we'll be in touch with volunteer assignments. https://tinyurl.com/cnas-commencement

If you have any questions, please reach out to Joann Young (joann.young at ucr.edu<mailto:joann.young at ucr.edu>).

I hope to see each and every one of you at commencement!
