Dear Grad Students,

Our office is running a new program in Fall 2021:
Mind the Gap - Targeted graduate school mentoring to bridge the gap between UCR undergraduate studies and URM matriculation into graduate school at UCR

We are looking for graduate students to serve as mentors in Fall Quarter 2021 to UCR undergrads interested in applying to UCR for grad school in the sciences.

Each mentor will have a small group of mentees, and will meet with each of them at least two times during fall quarter 2021. The purpose of the mentoring sessions is to answer questions about the graduate school selection and application process from the perspective of a current graduate student.

In addition to the mentoring component, UCR undergrad Juniors and Seniors in the program will attend the Graduate Division Grad School Open House and two workshops on topics related to choosing a grad program, how to become a more competitive applicant, and how to apply. Mentors are welcome to attend the workshops but they are not required.

Mentors will be awarded a stipend for their participation in the program.
