¡Bienvenides Gracias for being a part of our comunidad as we begin the new year. We highly recommend that you read our weekly newsletter to learn about our upcoming community events/programs, scholarships and more! We will also be providing program updates, and notices through these emails.

Chicano Student Programs Orientation Week
Chicano Student Programs (CSP) first started in 1972 on the second floor of UCR's Rivera Library, adjacent to the "El Centro" meeting room, across the hall from the Chicano Studies Department and the offices of EOP/SAA Support Services. As the population of Chicano/a/x Latino/a/x students continued to grow, CSP after moving through many spaces found its current home at 145 Costo Hall, which offers a community space for students to gain valuable resources, find opportunities to gain leadership skills through outreach and organizing, and to empower students social, cultural, and academic success. The Chicano Link Peer Mentor Program is coordinated and run by CSP staff, and we are so excited that you have been accepted into the program!

To start off our Welcome to the CSP Familia, we will be hosting our New Student Orientation throughout October 9th-12th! Come meet other students, dance, and enjoy free food!

ANNUAL ¡BIENVENIDA!
In celebration of all our new and returning students, we invite you all to come enjoy and connect with the comunidad through our welcome event on Thursday, October 12th at UCR's The Barn. We will have live music, vendors, organizations, and performances throughout the event. Free entry.

Save the Date: Día De Los Muertos Nooner!
Come honor and remember our ancestors and loved ones during our annual DDLM nooner on Nov. 1st at the UCR Bell Tower. We encourage you to bring photos of your loved ones and contribute to our community altar. We will have musica, vendors, and comunidad coming together. Open to the public.

Leadership & Volunteering Opportunities
CSP School Visit Volunteering
Interested in giving back to the community? We have a school visit program where we would love any volunteers. No prior experience volunteering required.

Latinx and the Environment Conference Volunteers
Seeking volunteers to help out with the Latinx and the Environment Conference! The conference will take place on October 20th from 5:30 pm-8:00 pm and on October 21st 7:45 am-4:30 pm.

Join our annual planning committees meetings! Help plan our annual events: Raza Grad and Semana de la Mujer! Further details on meetings dates/times will be shared during Week 1.
