Dear Deans and Associate Deans,

The attached report from the UC Undergraduate Academic Advising Council
(UCUAAC)--the systemwide organization of academic advising
leaders--highlights the critical role of academic advisors in student
success.


The report examines the various impacts and needs of academic advisors
across the UC campuses, emphasizing their professional responsibilities.
This comes at a timely moment, as UC Riverside is now planning to host the
UC-wide academic advising conference next spring, which will serve as a
model for collaboration between advising professionals and campus
leadership.
