Academic Position in History
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified
academics to apply for an Assistant Professorship at the
School. Candidates must possess PhDs, as well as proved
records of accomplishment in teaching and research in the
following disciplines: Culture, Gender (Women in History);
Religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Islam etc). Applicants who
can teach courses in both areas will be given priority. The
successful candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate
level using English as the medium of instruction. In addition,
the appointed faculty will be expected to play a crucial role
in developing a Minor Programme in History.

Academic Position in World History
Stonehill College

Stonehill College, a selective Catholic college located on a
beautiful 375 acre campus near Boston, seeks candidates for an
assistant professor, non-tenure track, three-year appointment
in world history to begin in fall 2008. The field is open but
scholars of African, Islamic, Indian, or Southeast Asian
history are strongly encouraged to apply. The teaching load
will include electives in one’s specialty and the department's
World History survey courses. Working with a talented student
body of 2,350, Stonehill faculty members hold high
expectations for students’ intellectual attainment and

Professional Position: Part-time Translator for Burmese,
Khmer, Lao, or Vietnamese
Radio Free Asia

RFA is a private, nonprofit corporation that broadcasts news
and information in nine Asian languages to listeners who do
not have access to full and free news media. RFA’s mission is
to provide a forum for a variety of opinions and voices from
within these Asian countries.  We’re looking for people to
translate our broadcasts, via emailed MP3 file links. 
Broadcasts vary in length from 2 minutes to 1 hour.
