[WFA] Senate service deadlines TODAY & TOMORROW

Dear colleagues, 
I hope everyone’s quarters have wrapped up nicely. I’m sending this brief reminder that about 2 deadlines regarding opportunities for senate service. 

Due today by 5pm - nominations to replace 2 members of the Committee on Committees. I will be rotating off, as will Jonathan Eacott. That leaves 1 woman on a committee of 12! It would be really great to fill these 2 vacant slots with female faculty members. 

Due tomorrow by 5pm - your once-a-year chance to indicate your preferences for Standing Committees.  I understand that the portal will be open through the weekend if you can’t get to it right away.  I’ve inquired with the powers that be whether committees will continue to meet via Zoom, even once we’re back on campus. There is no definitive answer to that yet, unfortunately.  

As soon as Spring quarter kicks off, we’ll be populating nominations for the standing committees. If you have a particularly strong desire to serve on one committee or another, please feel free to reach out & I’ll make a note of it.   And if this is all new to you, or you’re unsure about the purview of a particular committee or the associated workload, that information can be found on Academic Senate website <https://senate.ucr.edu/>.
