Dear Wellness Program Participants:
On behalf of the Healthy Climate Committee (HCC), I'm excited to invite you to a workshop called "Restorative Practice: How to Build Community Through Conversation". These interactive trainings are designed to build communication skills for engaging in difficult conversations and are led by Dr. Julie Shackford-Bradley<https://www.law.berkeley.edu/our-faculty/faculty-profiles/julie-shackford-bradley/> from UC Berkeley's Restorative Justice Center. This will be an opportunity to hone your skills if you already have some background with restorative practice, and it can also serve as an introduction to the topic if you do not.

What are Restorative Practices? Restorative Practices are a set of principles and techniques that foster open communication, empathy, and understanding among individuals and within communities. These practices go beyond traditional disciplinary methods, focusing on healing, repairing harm, and building meaningful connections.

Why Should You Join? Our Restorative Practice Training is designed for anyone who seeks to enhance their conflict resolution skills and create a more inclusive and harmonious environment. By participating, you will:

  1. Gain Essential Skills: Learn proven techniques to facilitate meaningful conversations, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships, both personally and professionally.
  2. Promote Healing: Discover how to address harm and restore trust in a way that empowers individuals and rebuilds the fabric of your community.
  3. Build Stronger Communities: Develop strategies for fostering a safe and respectful environment where everyone's voice is heard, and everyone's needs are valued.
  4. Reduce Disruptions: Equip yourself with tools to address issues proactively, reducing the occurrence of conflicts and creating a more conducive space for growth and collaboration.
