[Wellnesscommunications] UCR Healthy Campus Public Health Anti-Racism subcommittee - are you interested in becoming a member?

Dear Colleagues,
On August 20th Healthy Campus in partnership with The Well, UCR’s student health promotion and health education department, hosted an Antiracism Public Health Forum.  The forum was held to discuss racism as a public health crisis, to acknowledge the work currently being done across campus to address these issues, and to engage our campus community in discussing needs and identifying solutions to create a culture of health equity at UCR.
The forum was our first step toward creating a subcommittee within Healthy Campus dedicated to antiracism work. You can find more information about Healthy Campus’ structure, goals, and subcommittees <https://healthycampus.ucr.edu/> here<https://healthycampus.ucr.edu/>.
Our next step is to build the subcommittee’s membership with diverse representation from across campus.
We are currently looking to identify faculty, staff, and students (grad and undergrad) who would be interested in being a part of the Antiracism Public Health Subcommittee:
●       If you attended the forum on August 20th and completed the post-forum survey indicating your interest in being a member of this subcommittee, then we already have your information and will be contacting you shortly with next steps.
●       If you are interested in being on this subcommittee, but haven’t let us know yet (whether you attended the forum or not) please reply directly to this email or send a message to  healthycampus at ucr.edu<mailto:healthycampus at ucr.edu> to tell us you’d like to be included in future meetings of the Antiracism Public Health Subcommittee.
Our goal is to have people dedicated to advancing these efforts begin shaping this subcommittee, including developing the mission, vision, and goals for the group, based in part on the discussions held during the forum.
We hope to have someone from your area/department become involved in this subcommittee. Please let me know if you have any questions.
