Dear Colleagues,

The Vice Chancellor Student Affairs Organization in conjunction with the Division of Diversity, Excellence and Equity and the Office of Faculty and Staff Affirmative Action would like to invite you to participate in a series of workshops: Risk Management and the Recruitment and Selection Process.  These workshops will focus on the intersection of the recruitment and selection process and risk management, with an emphasis on, laws, regulations and promising practices.  The series will kick off with the following workshops and will be followed by 2 other workshops which will be announced at a later date.


1.       Supporting the Staff Recruitment & Selections Process

2.       Staff Recruitment & Selection Strategies for Hiring Managers

w  Hiring is the most important decision most managers make and no one can afford a bad hiring decision.  This workshop reviews the complete recruitment and selection process.


3.       Affirmative Action 101

Monday, February 4, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

w  This workshop offers a primer on the fundamentals of affirmative action in employment through lecture and case studies, including essential affirmative action and nondiscrimination strategies and practices.

We highly encourage all administrators, chairs, managers, supervisors, HR/AP professionals, and anyone responsible for staff recruitment to participate.  This workshop is free to participants within VCSA.  However, space is limited so please enroll now via the UC Learning Center http://www.ucrlearning.ucr.edu/.  Refreshments will be provided!
