[Vcsa-announcements] Matching Dean's Challenge [FAQ's for Deans in Drag at UCR]

Folks,

Dean of Students Susan Allen Ortega will match your donation up to $500 to help us get to the $5,000 scholarship fundraiser goal and see Asst. Dean Tonantzin Oseguera do her Drag King best this Thursday at Dragalicious Drag Ball.

Please go online and pledge or donate by tomorrow (Tuesday). Don't forget to complete the survey after donating, so we know how much we've raised. So far, we've hit $4,200!

We've had a few questions since announcing the Deans in Drag Scholarship Fundraiser…

Q: The academic deans are performing drag?!
A: Um, no, but that is a brilliant idea. Rather, Asst. Dean Tonantzin Oseguera will explore her inner drag king on stage if we raise $5,000.

Q: Dean of Students Susan Allen Ortega & Asst. Dean Alfredo Figueroa are performing drag?!
A: Um, no. We had that same brilliant idea, but it's not going to happen. Rather, a drag queen will perform Susan and a drag king will perform Alfredo if we raise $7,000 to endow the LGBTQIA Student Leadership Scholarship fund.

Q: Doesn't Tonantzin have it easy as a drag king, compared to Andy "Candy Plum" Plumley's drag queen performance last year?

Q: When is all this drag going to happen?
A: At Dragalicious Drag Ball IX<http://out.ucr.edu/events/Pages/dragball.aspx> on Thursday, April 5, 8pm @ HUB 302 (pre-sale tickets $5/students, $7/non-students, more at the door].

Q: But what about the puppies?
A: Wrong email, Toi.

Q: I don't have any extra money right now to donate, what can I do?
A: Two words: Tax Return. Another word: Pledge. You can pledge a future donation, or (if staff or faculty) arrange payroll deduction to start at a later date. Or use that handy credit card online. Q: What is Tonantzin's drag king name?

Help us endow the LGBTQIA Student Leadership Scholarship Fund! For every $500 raised, Asst. Dean Tonantzin Oseguera will don another article of drag king finery.
