Next week UCR's Diversity Initiatives Office will present our fall Diversity Double Feature films. We'd love to have you there so please join us for some great events.  The film makers will be joining us at each screening, so it's a great opportunity to connect directly with creative minds involved in cutting edge projects.

Description: Mooz-lum is a 2010 American independent film written and directed by Qasim "Q" Basir.   Amid a strict Muslim rearing and a social life he's never had, Tariq enters college confused. New peers, family and mentors help him find his place, but the 9-11 attacks force him to face his past and make the biggest decisions of his life. Viewers will also have the opportunity to speak with the film's director after the screening.

Description: Hearing Radmilla is a documentary portrait of Miss Navajo Nation 1997-1998, Radmilla Cody. The film follows Radmilla through her controversial reign as the first biracial Miss Navajo, her burgeoning singing career, and the realities that lead to serious legal consequences. The film also explores how domestic violence can drastically impact women's lives.
