[Vcsa-announcements] Announce/Post Info on Rape Awareness Film Series

Dear Colleague:

Given the urgency of the scourge of rape, I'm writing to ask that you 
announce and post information on this month's Rape Awareness Film 
Series.  As you might know, the purposes of the series are to commemorate 
national Sexual Assault Awareness Month and increase awareness on sexual 
activity that is carried out against a person's will - using force, 
manipulation, and/or coercion - and including many forms like rape, incest, 
child molestation, same-sex assault, sexual battery, acquaintance rape, and 
spousal rape.  What's important is rape is a violent act motivated by a 
desire to control and have power over someone. It is not done in response 
to a sexual urge. It is always an injurious/destructive act, which is 
carried out in a sexual manner.  For more on the series that explores it, 
please see the attachment.
