Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death in the US among adults 18-65. Every 16 minutes in the US, someone dies by suicide ( HYPERLINK "file:///\\www.outofthedarkness.org" www.outofthedarkness.org).

Suicide Awareness Resources for Staff and Faculty

What do you do when a student talks to you about suicide? This workshop lead by staff from the Counseling Center and the AVC/Dean of Students office will provide the tools and resources to best help a student regarding the topic of suicide.  

This workshop will also provide the opportunity to meet UC Riverside's new Student Affairs Case Manager. The Student Affairs Case Manager is a position developed out of the need to address the number of students in the University that struggle with mental health related issues that interfere with their academic and student life success.   This position is designed to provide support to students through providing referrals, linkage, advocacy, problem solving, community resources, support in managing the demands of a UCR student.
