Colleagues, You may know that Campus Activities and First Year
Programs, the AVC/DOS, VCSA, and VCSA Marketing and Communications
are working with the colleges to develop the first of what we hope
will be several online modules for admitted students that will
provide self paced, interactive learning modules on a variety of
topics essential to getting off to a good start and enjoying success
in the first year at UC Riverside. The first module we are
developing will focus on course selection and registration nuts and bolts.

Before Spring Break we asked for help in identifying students who are
positive about UC Riverside, poised and articulate and might be
willing to volunteer to be actors in the pre-orientation
video. While many students answered the call and signed up for a
screen test, these students did not reflect the diversity of the UC
Riverside campus. The consultant we've retained to shoot the video
for the first module has blocked out this weekend to do the
work. Any help you can offer in identifying students (particularly
Asian, Chicano/Latino and Caucasian students) who do not have Easter
weekend plans and would be good representatives of UC Riverside and
willing to participate as actors would be appreciated. A final
screen test for interested students is scheduled for this Thursday
afternoon 3 - 4 p.m. Thank you in advance for your help with this
important project. Susan
