[UWPadvising] ENGL001C course name change

*Please disregard if currently enrolled in ENGL001C or a Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) course during the Spring or Summer quarters*

Dear Student,

Our records indicate that you have not yet taken and passed the third quarter course (ENGL 001C or an approved Writing Across the Curriculum course) in the English Composition breadth requirement.

English 1C (Applied Intermediate Composition) has been renamed: Writing 30 (Analytical Writing).  This newly renamed course will be available for enrollment beginning in Fall 2025.  If you planned to complete the English Composition breadth requirement by enrolling in ENGL 001C, you will need to search for WRIT 030 in the Schedule of Classes.  If you plan to complete the requirement by taking/passing a Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) course, please note that all WAC courses have a required workshop corequisite – WRIT 040 (formerly ENGL 007).
ENGL001C is still offered during Summer Sessions A and B.

Should you have additional questions regarding this change or need further assistance to enroll in the appropriate course for the Fall 2025 quarter, please contact UWP staff at uwp at ucr.edu.
