[Undergradstudents] Important Message From SOE Dean

Dear SOE Students,

We are living in challenging times. The SOE is committed to supporting all of our students. I am sending this specific communication to affirm our support for undocumented students.

1. This morning, the SOE faculty engaged in a professional development session led by Drs. Gutierrez, Zavala, and Viramontes designed to better equip them to support undocumented students and those from mixed-status families.

2. This Spring, SOE faculty, students and staff are invited to SOE-specific Undocually workshops. There will be two opportunities to gain this vital training. One training will be an all-day in person opportunity while the second training will include two half day remote sessions. Specific dates and times will be announced in the coming weeks.

3. SOE will host a Teach-In on April 2, 2025 from 10am-5pm. The goal of the teach-in is to give space for the SOE community to learn, and to share vital information and resources. Importantly, there will be two opportunities on this day for students to engage in professionally-facilitated reflective community circles. Please take some time on this date to learn and grow as we all work to support undocumented students. More detailed information on the teach-in will be shared in the coming weeks.
