Dear New and Continuing Education Students,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 Academic Year!

We could hardly be more optimistic about the many opportunities UC Riverside has in store for you during this season of renewal. Having spent the past year and a half away from campus—which for some is your entire time as undergraduates—our School of Education (GSOE) is eager to finally welcome you back home. We are especially excited to introduce first-year (transfer and freshmen) students to our outstanding faculty and staff, who have designed new learning opportunities as well as social and recreational experiences with you and your classmates in mind. Each Tuesday, all of our undergraduates will receive the following student newsletter, “GSOE Connector,” with important deadlines, events, and resources to help you navigate UCR and your time as Education Majors. Our goal is to “keep you in the loop” and make this next year truly formative.

In the spirit of renewal this fall, please be sure to take full advantage of all the available university resources—from the Academic Resource Center to the Student Recreation Center to our very own School of Education Writing Support Center. These and many other programs (and the good people who run them) are here to foster a healthy work-life balance that makes the university experience rewarding and fun.
