The UCR Retirees’ and Emeriti Associations invites you to attend their
*in-person* Winter Luncheon on *Friday, May 15, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00
p.m. *in the Alumni & Visitors Center at UCR. We are thrilled to have Dr.
Carlos Cortés, Professor Emeritus of History, give a presentation at our
luncheon. The presentation title is *“The Past is a Foreign Country: How a
UCR Retired History Professor Morphed into a Nonagenarian First-Time
Novelist”.*



*Luncheon Schedule*

11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Social

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Presentation



The luncheon will begin with a social starting at 11:30 a.m. followed by
the Business Meetings of the UCR Retirees’ (UCRRA) and Emeriti
Associations. Our guest speaker presentation will begin at 12:10 p.m. Lunch
will be provided and assorted wines will be served.

This exciting event will also feature:

·       *Recognizing *the Winter 2026 UCR Emeriti Association Graduate
Student Travel Award Recipients

·       A *donation drive for the UCR Student R’Pantry* which supports
students with emergency non-perishable food, personal hygiene, household,
and childcare items. Attached to this invitation is the R’Panty Wish List
items and those of highest need are as follows:

o   *Canned food, fats and oils*: mixed veggies, mixed fruit, corn,
vegetable or low sodium chicken stock

o   *Grains and proteins*: oatmeal, tortillas, spam, Vienna sausages,
garbanzo beans

o   *Cleaning supplies*: laundry soap, dryer sheets, face masks

o   *Infant/Student Parent Needs*: baby wipes training pants/diapers

o   *Beverages*: water bottles, caprisuns, protein shakes



The cost of entry is *$25 per person for UCRRA and UCREA active dues-paying
members and their guests* and *$30 per person for non dues-paying members*.

1, 2026*.
