Re:          Reminder: UCRRA Board Call for Nominations

Dear Members of the UCR Retirees’ Association,



On behalf of the Nominating committee of the UCR Retirees’ Association (UCRRA), the UCRRA Executive Board is inviting members to apply for open 2022-2023 UCRRA Board Member positions and is seeking your vote to elect a slate of candidates that includes the officer roles of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.



Each position serves a one-year term which begins on July 1, 2022. A position on the Board provides a unique opportunity to assist in the development of social and cultural programs for UCRRA members as well as the following:

·         Promote the general welfare of retired staff, retirees’ spouses or domestic partners and retirees’ surviving spouses or domestic partners

·         Offer opportunities for social, cultural and other continuing relationships among the members

·         Foster continuing involvement in campus activities, volunteer work or part-time employment

·         Inform and assist members in utilizing benefits available to them while enhancing services

·         Participate in the systemwide Retirees’ Association Council of University of California Retirees’ Association (CUCRA)

·         Coordinate activities of the UCR Emeriti Association when mutually beneficial



While we have identified a few people who are willing to run, others are welcome to run for any positions. The slate of candidates thus far for the UCRRA Executive Board positions are as follows:



The President

·         Andy Plumley is the current UCRRA Acting President and former UCR Auxiliary Services Professional, and has indicated he will run for this office.



The Vice President

The Treasurer

·         Al Chavez is the current UCRRA Treasurer and former UCR Ethnic Studies Professional, and has indicated he will run for this office.

Nominations must be submitted by Thursday, June 9, 2022 via the online application form using the designated link below. UCRRA Board Elections

The UCRRA Board Elections will take place during the UCRRA Executive Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 and will be conducted by voice vote, unless we have more than one candidate for a position. More information will be sent to all UCRRA members.
