Dear Members of the UCR Retirees' Association,



On behalf of the Nominating committee of the UCR Retirees' Association (UCRRA), the UCRRA Executive Board is seeking your vote to elect a slate of candidates that includes the officer roles of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Chair, Hospitality Chair, and Member-at-large.



Each position serves a two-year term which begins on July 1, 2021. A position on the Board provides a unique opportunity to assist in the development of social and cultural programs for UCRRA members as well as the following:

*       Promote the general welfare of retired staff, retirees' spouses or domestic partners and retirees' surviving spouses or domestic partners

*       Offer opportunities for social, cultural and other continuing relationships among the members

*       Foster continuing involvement in campus activities, volunteer work or part-time employment

*       Inform and assist members in utilizing benefits available to them while enhancing services

*       Participate in the systemwide Retirees' Association Council of University of California Retirees' Association (CUCRA)

*       Coordinate activities of the UCR Emeriti Association when mutually beneficial

The President

*       Debra De La Cruz: current UCRRA Membership Chair and former UCR University Advancement Professional



The Hospitality Chair

*       Patricia Smith-Hunt: current UCRRA Member and former UCR University Library Professional



The Member-at-large

*       Karim Zahedi: current UCRRA Member and former UCR Administrative Services & Strategic Executive Team Professional



The UCRRA Board Elections will take place during the business meeting portion of the UCR Retirees' and Emeriti Spring virtual Luncheon. If you have not registered for the luncheon, please visit the retiree and emeriti webpage at:

Elections will be by voice vote during the May 14 Spring virtual Luncheon.
