Health Notices from UCOP
UC Office of the President (UCOP) has provided notices on the following
Health networks outlined below. Please review the notices below as it may
pertain to where emeriti and retirees seek medical care.
*City of Hope*
· The network termination has been extended from January 1, 2026, to
January 15, 2026.
· Members may visit Network Negotiations with City of Hope in
California | UnitedHealthcare for the latest updates on negotiations at:
https://www.uhc.com/cityofhope.
*Loma Linda University Health*
· UnitedHealthcare and Loma Linda University Health are continuing
negotiations for a new contract. The current agreement is scheduled to
expire on January 31, 2026. Member notifications were sent during the week
of December 22, 2025, to members who have had claims within the past 36
months.
· Some members may be able to continue seeing their providers as
out-of-network, provided the provider is Medicare-approved, agrees to treat
the member, and bills UnitedHealthcare. Members are encouraged to confirm
directly with their providers.
· The notification letter also includes alternative provider options
for consideration. Members may visit https://www.uhc.com/lomalinda for
updates.
*UnitedHealthcare*
· A call campaign will launch in early January 2026 to inform members
of formulary changes to the prescription drug benefit and review the new
deductible for Tier 3 non-preferred and Tier 4 specialty medications. Most
current members may receive a call unless they are listed on the Do Not
Call registry.
· The UnitedHealthcare Advocate will:
o Explain the 2026 prescription drug benefit changes
o Provide detailed information on benefit updates, if applicable,
including:
§ Changes to drug payment
§ Deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
§ Enhanced benefits
o Identify potential barriers to care and offer solutions as needed
