Brief Survey to Highlight Your Emeriti Activities

Dear UCR Emerita and Emeritus Colleague,
The system-wide Council of UC Emeriti Associations (CUCEA) is conducting its 11th periodic survey of emeriti faculty, and we write to ask for your participation. The results of prior surveys have served as effective tools for highlighting the intellectual, community leadership, and financial contributions of emeriti faculty to the stature and reputation of the University of California and its ten campuses. These data play an important role in persuading campus administrations to continue providing support for emeriti and their activities, and to address the concerns raised by our community.
Many UC retirees continue to enrich and participate actively in their communities, and to engage in professional research, teaching and service. Many of us are teaching classes, doing research and serving as mentors to colleagues and students; many also continue to provide volunteer work and civic leadership in our communities. There are more than 6,000 members of the UC emeriti community, and their aggregate contribution to the University and to society are truly impressive. Our last survey was completed in 2021, and it is important to update and document our inventory of emeriti contributions, and to report on their value.  This inventory continued to provide compelling evidence that the prodigious collective work of UC emeriti is equivalent to a virtual added campus; it is appropriately entitled "A Virtual Eleventh Campus" (the 2021 survey report it can be found at this website)<https://www.cucea.org/uploads/1/3/9/6/139695957/eleventhcampusreport_2018-2021.pdf>.
Now we want to bring this project up to date, this time covering academic years 2021-2024. Please take a few moments and complete this survey. It can be done online (no postage or mailing concerns) and it should take less than 10 minutes. You are serving your interests when you do this.
