Re:
UnitedHealthcare – Change Healthcare Cyber Security Issue

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) informed UC of a cyber security issue with Change Healthcare which is part of their Optum subsidiary. Change Healthcare works across the health system to provide clinical, administrative and financial services to payers and providers, including pharmacy claims transactions, provider claims processing, patient access and financial clearance, provider payments and authorizations, and medical necessity reviews. UHC took immediate action to disconnect Change Healthcare’s systems to prevent further impact when they became aware of the outside threat on February 21, 2024. At this time, they believe the issue is specific to Change Healthcare, while all other systems across UnitedHealth Group are operational. For the latest information, visit Information on the Change Healthcare Cyber Response - UnitedHealth Group webpage at: https://www.unitedhealthgroup.com/changehealthcarecyberresponse.

UnitedHealthcare, Health Net, Optum, Accolade and Navitus have reported in on this security issue, taken preventive measures and are working with their respective security teams to assess the incident and to protect UC members’ data.
