Dear Members of the UCR Emeriti Association,



On behalf of the UCR Emeriti Association Nominating Committee, the UCREA Executive Board invites its members to vote and elect a slate of candidates that includes the officer roles of Co-Presidents, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.



Each position serves a two-year term which begins on July 1, 2021. UCREA members will also be asked to vote on a proposed amendment to the UCREA bylaws. That proposed amendment to the UCREA bylaws is attached.



The slate of candidates for the UCREA Executive Board positions are:

The Co-Presidents

*       Darleen DeMason: current Co-Vice President and Professor of Botany & Plant Morphologist, Emerita

*       Raymond Russell: current Co-Vice President and Professor of Sociology, Emeritus



The Vice President

*       George Haggerty: current Executive Board Member and Professor of English, Emeritus



The Secretary

*       Bradley Hyman: current Secretary and Professor of Biology, Emeritus



The Treasurer

*       Dallas Rabenstein: current Executive Board Member and Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus



The UCREA Board Election will take place during the UCR Retirees' and Emeriti virtual Spring Luncheon If you have not registered for the luncheon, please visit the retiree and emeriti webpage at:

Voters Expectations

*       UCREA slate of candidates: Elections will be by voice vote during the virtual Spring Luncheon meeting on May 14. Members who cannot attend the meeting who wish to vote on these nominations are invited to cast an absentee ballot by emailing their vote to the UCR Retirement Center Director no later than May 13, 2021 at: cristina.otegui at ucr.edu<mailto:cristina.otegui at ucr.edu>.

*       Proposed amendment to the UCREA bylaws: The vote on the proposed amendment will be conducted during the virtual Spring Luncheon meeting on May 14. Members who cannot attend the meeting who wish to vote on the proposed amendment are invited to cast an absentee ballot by emailing their vote to the UCR Retirement Center Director no later than May 13, 2021 at: cristina.otegui at ucr.edu<mailto:cristina.otegui at ucr.edu>.
