<b>Postdoctoral Scholars</b> enrolled in the Health Net PPO medical plan. It states that Health Net Life Insurance Company will no longer offer its group insurance PPO plans as of January 1, 2023.
<b>Please note that there will be no disruption to members of the Health Net PPO plan.</b>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The California Department of Insurance (CDI) currently has oversight of the PPO plans under the Health Net Life Insurance Company. The oversight of the Health Net PPO plans will move to the
Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) as of January 1, 2023. The Department of Insurance required Health Net to issue this communication to PPO plan members, with no language edits permitted. Unfortunately, Health Net did not provide UC advanced notice
of the timing of the letter issuance, nor a sample letter. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The following statement has been posted to the landing page of the
<b>Gallagher Postdoctoral Scholars Benefits Plan website:</b><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><i><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Postdoctoral Scholars</span></i></b><i><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> enrolled in the PPO medical plan will be receiving letters in the mail from Health Net indicating the
plan will terminate on 12/31/22. Health Net was required to send this letter by the Department of Insurance, but the plan is not terminating on 12/31/22. Currently, the Department of Insurance has oversight of PPO plans in California. As of 01/01/23, the
Department of Managed Health Care will assume this responsibility. <b>Postdoctoral Scholars</b> should not see any impact on their benefits due to this change.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
