On March 9, 2026, UCR implemented a new UCPath Final Pay Pilot which aims to deliver accurate and timely final paychecks for separations and retirements through new automated processes. This process has a dedicated UCPath team for Final Pay that includes Payroll, Accrual and Benefit subject-matter-experts.

This project introduces new changes from the previous year's retirement process.


  1.  If your termination effective date is 6/30/26 or 7/1/26, you will be paid on your last day worked: 6/29/26 or 6/30/26.


  1.  Those in the 1976 Retirement Tier will still have a one (1) day off pay status, with the extra month of retirement benefits starting on 7/1/26 for all Retirement Tiers.


  1.  For purposes of transferring accrued vacation pay, if you wish to change your UC Voluntary Retirement Savings Program contribution to your 403b or 457b on your final check, you must update your contribution within the timeframe indicated below. This is an employee-to-Fidelity action. The window to submit contribution changes starts after the previous pay cycle ends and extends to the last date Fidelity can accept and process the contribution change based on your expected paycheck date.  This transfer does not impact annual contribution limits.

Final pay processing will deduct both percentage-based and flat dollar retirement savings contribution amounts, as long as the monthly flat dollar amount has not already been deducted within the same pay period.

Monthly paid members must update the Fidelity Voluntary Retirement Savings Plan contributions on NetBenefits.com<http://www.netbenefits.com/> by June 23, 2026 to have accrued vacation hours payout transferred pre-tax.

Bi-Weekly paid members must update the Fidelity Voluntary Retirement Savings Plan contributions on NetBenefits.com<http://www.netbenefits.com/>  by June 18, 2026 to have accrued vacation hours payout transferred pre-tax.
