ComPsych Learning & Organizational Excellence Senior Consultant Marci Walton moves past fundamental communication, equipping you with actionable strategies to give effective feedback that truly resonates, whether you're addressing a performance issue with a team member, acknowledging a colleague's excellent work, or navigating a difficult conversation with a peer.
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
* Identify when it's best to give positive feedback vs. when to give critical feedback
* Identify when it's best to praise effort vs. talent
* Discuss uses of "positive intent" when giving critical feedback
* Employ image-centered compliments
* Use judgment-free language to reduce defensiveness and creative freeze
* Identify and practice simple strategies to initiate feedback delivery
This session is eligible for one (1) hour of SHRM(r) credit.
