Health Net has announced upcoming changes to coverage for blood glucose meters and test strips, effective January 1, 2026.  Lifescan’s OneTouch supplies will shift from Tier 2 to Tier 3 copay.  Meanwhile, Roche Accu-ChekⓇ and Abbott FreeStyle glucose meters and test strips will be available at Tier 2 copays.  Health Net’s microsite will be updated to reflect these changes.

Notifications will be sent to UC Blue & Gold members currently using Lifescan’s OneTouch supplies.

What Members Can Expect:

  *   Continued use of OneTouch supplies with Tier 3 copay beginning January 1, 2026, or
  *   Transition to Accu-Chek or FreeStyle products, with glucose meters provided at no cost and test strips covered at Tier 2 copays.  Members must obtain new prescriptions from their providers, diabetic educator, or pharmacist before January 1, 2026, and present the product details on their notification letter and the vendor flyer to the pharmacist when picking up supplies.
