UCPath will implement the following enhancements effective July 1st, 2025:  

Expansion of Paid Sick Leave Phase 2 

UCPath will implement Academic Sick Leave Banks to align with Expanded Sick Leave policy that went into effect January 1, 2025, as noted in APM-710.<https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-710.pdf>  Academic Bank eligible employees will be credited with six days' worth of paid sick leave hours, based on the FTE of their eligible appointments. Bank hours will appear following payroll processing for the first full pay period in July (August 1 for monthly paid employees, and July 28 for biweekly paid employees).

Job Aids and Resources listed below have been updated to include Academic Bank details, including instructions on the actions that locations are responsible for when adjusting balances when appointment changes occur during the year. 

In addition, sick leave calculations for non-exempt postdoc employees in Job Code 003255 will be prorated by FTE (rounded up to the nearest hour). This change does not impact exempt postdoc appointments.
