As the Los Angeles area continues to manage through devastating fires, UCOP wants to ensure that members of the UC community know about the numerous emergency resources available<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/benefits/understanding-your-benefits/details-about-your-benefits/emergency-resources-from-ucs-benefit-plans/> to help during these times.

Please refer to Disaster to Recovery<https://documents.ucr.edu/HR-Benefits/benefits-From-Disaster-to-Recovery.pdf> information to assist members in navigating the insurance claims process. The document includes:


  *   Links to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Red Cross
  *   Tips on how to build an emergency supplies kit
  *   Contact information for insurance carriers in California
  *   The phone number for the California Department of Insurance Consumer hotline

Kaiser Permanente:

  *   Kaiser members in the fire impact area were sent text messages with the following wording:  "The SCAL wildfires have deeply impacted many of our members and their loved ones. We're here to help you during this emergency. Find helpful information here: https://bit.ly/kpscalfires."  This link will route traffic to kp.org wildfire website<https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/southern-california/alerts/southern-california-fires>.

  *   All Southern California Kaiser members who have registered on kp.org and opted in to emails received the attached email.

  *   All Kaiser Permanente facilities are currently open and operating on normal schedules.
  *   UC Kaiser members should visit kp.org wildfire website<https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/southern-california/alerts/southern-california-fires> for the latest updates. The Kaiser link, Kaiser updates on SoCal wildfires<https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/southern-california/alerts/p2/southern-california-fires> provided on the Resources from UC plans PDF has been moved and members visiting the old link should click on "Get the most recent information here<https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/southern-california/alerts/southern-california-fires>" to be redirected.

The page also includes links to state and nonprofit emergency resources.

Emotional support resources are available regardless of whether employees are enrolled in UC benefits, including support through your Faculty and Staff Assistance Program<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/contacts/faculty-staff-assistance-programs.html>.  In addition, Optum Behavioral Health is opening its Optum Public Crisis line for two calendar weeks, starting on January 8, 2025, to support anyone impacted. Individuals can call 1-866-447-3573, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT, or visit yousupported.com<https://yousupported.com/> for resources.
