As the Los Angeles area faces devastating fires, UCOP wants to ensure that members of the UC community know about the numerous emergency resources available<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/benefits/understanding-your-benefits/details-about-your-benefits/emergency-resources-from-ucs-benefit-plans/> to help during these times.
Please see the Resources from UC Plans<https://documents.ucr.edu/HR-Benefits/benefits-Emergency-Resources-from-UC%20Plans.pdf> and UC PPO Plans So Cal Fire Emergency Resources<https://documents.ucr.edu/HR-Benefits/benefits-UCPPO-Plans-SoCal-Fire-Emergency-Resources.pdf> attached for specific resources shared by UC's benefits plans for those impacted by the Southern California fires.
Emergency resources from UC's benefits plans<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/benefits/understanding-your-benefits/details-about-your-benefits/emergency-resources-from-ucs-benefit-plans/> on UCnet<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/> provides high-level information about the support and accommodations available, from emergency supplies of essential prescriptions to access to voluntary retirement savings plan funds. The page also includes links to state and nonprofit emergency resources.
Emotional support resources are available regardless of whether employees are enrolled in UC benefits, including support through your Faculty and Staff Assistance Program<https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/contacts/faculty-staff-assistance-programs.html>. In addition, Optum Behavioral Health is opening its Optum Public Crisis line for two calendar weeks, starting on January 8, 2025, to support anyone impacted. Individuals can call 1-866-447-3573, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT, or visit yousupported.com<https://yousupported.com/> for resources.
