The 2024 UC Care Benefits Booklet<https://documents.ucr.edu/HR-Benefits/benefits-UC-Care-Benefits-Booklet-2024.pdf> has been updated to include language about the long-standing no "tier-bumping" policies and practices under this plan.  The new language also clarifies the UC Care Tier 1 network, and that not all specialties and all provider types are found in Tier 1.  The new language is on page 3 in the "Summary of Benefits" section of the attached SPD and is included below for your reference.

The Tier 1 - UC Select Network was created to encourage the use of UC Medical facilities and physicians. For UC campuses that do not have a UC Medical Center, quality hospitals and physicians were selected in the immediate area by the campus. This Tier 1 network of non-UC providers is focused on primary care, some specialty care, and hospitals. The plan does not guarantee all services and provider types will be available at Tier 1. For all additional services, you may seek care from Tier 2 - Anthem Preferred Providers.  The UC Select Providers copayment/coinsurance will apply only to services provided by UC Select Providers.


The revised SPD is now available in the https://www.uchealthplans.com/commercial website.  The language above will also be posted on UCNet and ALEX.
