UCPath – Enrolling Voluntary Disability Plans in Benefits Billing during Furlough
On March 15, 2021, a new configuration to enroll Voluntary Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Plans in Benefits Billing, as applicable, went into effect.

This system update is specifically for employees placed on furlough, known in UCPath as Short Work Break (SWB), through PayPath with the following action / reason:

         · SWB / P09 Partial Career-9 Months

         · SWB / P10 Partial Career-10 Months

         · SWB / P11 Partial Career-11 Months

Going forward, when an employee enrolled in Voluntary Disability is placed on Short Work Break for one of the above-mentioned action / reason codes, the system will automatically include Voluntary Disability Plans in Benefits Billing.

Voluntary Disability premiums will be billed as a lump sum per plan (monthly cost times duration of short work break) via UCPath’s billing invoice. As a reminder, billing invoices are generated once a month. During the monthly benefits billing cycle, UCPath generates records for those enrolled in direct billing at the time the billing cycle is processed. Any employees placed on Short Work Break after the billing cycle has concluded will be captured the following month.
