[Ucr-sdrc] Seeking Student Representative: DEI Symposium (Shared Struggles Panel)

Dear SDRC Student,

UCR is hosting the first "*At the Crossroads of Identity and
Discrimination: A Pedagogical Symposium,"* taking place on *Wednesday,
March 4th at the HUB.* This event explores how our campus community can
effectively communicate across divisive political conditions and foster a
deeper understanding of the student, staff, and faculty experience at UCR.
We are honored to have Royel Johnson and Paulette Granberry Russell joining
us as our keynote speakers.

Conference staff are organizing a specific panel and believe the
perspective of the disability community is essential:

   - *Session:* "Connecting the Dots: Shared Struggles toward Change"
   - *Time:* 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM (Session Two)
   - *The Focus: *This panel is designed to bring together different
   student populations—including foster youth, student parents, and students
   with disabilities—to discuss how their advocacy efforts can find common
   ground to build a more unified campus support system.

*Request for Representation:* We are looking for an undergraduate or
graduate student with a disability who feels strongly about advocacy and
intersectionality to serve as a panelist. *Would you be interested in being
on the panel?*

*Format & Support:* The session is a *moderated roundtable* focused on
dialogue rather than a formal presentation. A staff member from the DEI
office will be moderating the session, and they will provide you with
a *Facilitator
Guide* in advance with "starter questions" so you feel fully prepared and
supported.
