Dear Community,

We’re excited to announce that applications are now open for Adulting 101:
IRL, a unique program designed to help UCR students strengthen their basic
needs security, career readiness, and financial wellness — while earning up
to $600!

This is a great opportunity for students to gain practical life skills and
financial support through a structured, engaging, and collaborative
learning experience.

*Program Overview:*
Adulting 101: IRL helps students build real-world skills through workshops,
mentorship, and campus resources focused on:

   -

   *Basic Needs* – Navigating food, housing, and wellness resources
   -

   *Career Development* – Preparing for life after graduation
   -

   *Financial Wellness* – Managing money, budgeting, and planning for the
   future

*How It Works:*

   -

   💻 Submit a short program application
   -

   🧭 Attend an orientation and complete 6 program activities (two in each
   focus area) over Winter and Spring quarters
   -

   🎓 Attend a closing ceremony
   -

   💰 Receive up to $600 in Basic Needs grants upon program completion

*Eligibility Highlights:*

   -

   Currently enrolled undergraduate students (Winter & Spring 2026)
   -

   Must have submitted a 2025–26 FAFSA or Dream Act application
   -

   Have at least $600 in unmet financial need
   -

   Meet at least one of the following: $0 or below SAI, first-generation
   student, undocumented student, veteran, student parent, former foster
   youth, underground scholar, or experiencing homelessness

*Timeline:*

   -

   🗓️ Applications Open: *October 27, 2025*
   -

   🚨 Deadline: *October 31, 2025* or when 200 applications are received
   -

   📍 Orientation: January 7 (9:30–11 AM) or January 9 (12:30–2 PM) at the
   Career Center

Adulting 101: IRL is sponsored by the Basic Needs Department, in
collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid and the Career Center.
