Student Assistant II and Student Assistant Lead Position openings!

For more than 55 years, the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) is dedicated to the mission of promoting an inclusive educational experience for UC Riverside students through the advocacy of equal access, disability and ability awareness, and empowerment. We are looking for dynamic, highly motivated individuals. These individuals will show great attention to detail and provide excellent customer service while working in an inclusive, diverse, fast-paced environment. The Student Assistant II interacts with students, faculty, and staff under direct supervision to provide office support to the SDRC Main Desk and SDRC Testing Center. This includes greeting visitors, answering phones, assisting visitors, and calendar scheduling, and delivering exams. The Student Assistant II is also responsible for assisting with exam proctoring responsibilities.

Successful applicants will need to commit working through the 2025-26 academic year.

Our SDRC Peer Mentoring Program is expanding, and in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year, we want to extend this opportunity to you. The program's mission is to empower first-year and transfer students in understanding their disability and familiarizing themselves with the resources and services available on campus.
SDRC Peer Mentors must meet the following qualifications:

  1.  Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  2.  Have a permanent disability
  3.  Be enrolled at UCR as a student next school year (2025-2026)

Training will consist of two-day workshops during Week 0 of the Fall 2025 quarter (Tuesday, 9/23 and Wednesday, 9/24). Mentors will also meet once a month to check-in with a lead peer mentor and/or the program's advisor.
Commitment: You would serve as a mentor to your assigned mentee(s) for at least one academic school year.
Benefits: As a volunteer mentor, you will have the chance to enhance your self-awareness and social awareness and networking skills. Additionally, you can use this experience as a valuable co-curricular activity to incorporate in your resume or academic portfolio.

E-text/Alternate Media Accommodations

Please submit your Alternate Media Requests  using the Alternate Format Textbooks module on the R'Ability website<https://rability.ucr.edu/clockwork/custom/misc/index> as soon as course materials are announced. Required course material will be prioritized. Requests may take longer than 2 weeks to fulfill. Please email sdrc-at at ucr.edu<mailto:sdrc-at at ucr.edu> if you have any questions or concerns.

Students are highly encouraged to purchase e-text versions of required textbooks. When e-text is not available, the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) works with the campus bookstore, the publishers, and other partners to provide course materials in e-text formats. To avoid delays, it is best to purchase e-versions of all available textbooks.
