[Ucr-sdrc] Electrical Power/Elevators Currently Down in Several Campus Buildings

Dear SDRC Student,

Please be aware there was a fire this afternoon at the Physics Building and electrical power has been shut down in several campus buildings where classes are held or student services are located. This will likely impact access to elevator use in these buildings. This includes:
Physics Building
Watkins Hall
Sproul Hall
Hinderaker Hall
Rivera Library
Health Services Building

It is unknown how long the power will be out while repairs are done. If you have a mobility-related disability, depend on the elevators for access, and have a class in these buildings, here are a few options:

  *   Reach out to your faculty/instructor and confirm if the class will continue to meet with he power outage, or determine if they are making alternate arrangements for the class session.
  *   If they indicate the class will meet as scheduled at the regular location, let them know if you are unable to access the class location due to the elevators/power being out.
  *   If you need assistance or advocacy with accessing a class in these locations while the power is out, please reach out to SDRC as soon as possible at either 951-827-3861 or sdrc at ucr.edu<mailto:sdrc at ucr.edu>. Please be prepare provide us the following information so we may follow up:
     *   Your first and last name
     *   Student ID Number
     *   Contact phone number
     *   Name of your course you are attempting to access
     *   Location where course normally meets, Building and Room Number
     *   Day and Tim of your course session
     *   Name of your faculty/instructor
