SCHEDULE YOUR WINTER EXAMS!
Remember to visit rability.ucr.edu<http://rability.ucr.edu/> to request to use your accommodations this quarter! This allows SDRC staff to review your request, identify anything that may require SDRC assistance, and provide guidance to the faculty or student. The University needs to track exams given with accommodations to ensure that accessibility is being provided.

To protect your rights, please follow the established process in accessing approved accommodations<https://sdrc.ucr.edu/steps-accessing-approved-accommodations>. The SDRC can only support official accommodation requests submitted through R'Ability<https://rability.ucr.edu/>. If arrangements are coordinated outside of the official SDRC process, you risk not receiving your SDRC-approved accommodations in a timely manner or not in a manner appropriate to your situation. Submitting your exam information allows SDRC to effectively advocate for you when
necessary.

If you are unable to send out letters of accommodation, please contact our office to make an appointment with a Disability Specialist to update your documentation!

Requesting exam accommodations via R'Ability:

a. Go to rability.ucr.edu<http://rability.ucr.edu/>, select "Student Portal", Send your Quarterly Letters to Faculty.

b. Select Test or Final Exam Requests must be completed at least 7 days before scheduled exams.

c. Please make sure exam times/dates match the class exam time/dates.

d. Look at "View Your Calendar" for confirmation of upcoming exam requests.

e. If you have any questions regarding test-taking arrangements or need assistance requesting to use your accommodations in R'Ability, contact sdrc-exams at ucr.edu<mailto:sdrc-exams at ucr.edu>, website for the Student Test Booking Tutorial<https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Flive-ucr-sdrc.pantheonsite.io%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2F2022-09%2Fmodule-student-test-booking_accessible.pptx&wdOrigin=BROWSELINK>, or stop by our office during regular business hours.

Please schedule your exams 10 days prior to the test date and 2 weeks prior to your finals via R'Ability<https://rability.ucr.edu/clockwork/custom/misc/index>. If you miss the cutoff, you may submit a late exam request and the requests are processed based on availability of resources. Late exam requests are not guaranteed.

The Late Exam Request form is available in-person only during these times: 8am-8:45am and 4pm-4:45pm, Monday through Friday.

              Scholarship Opportunities

The Jason Wohlmuth Award for Student Health & Wellness is a fund established by Drs. Joe and Cinna Wohlmuth, to build awareness, eliminate stigma, increase knowledge, and empower students with intervention skills to make a positive impact related to mental health and the substance misuse prevention. One (1) student will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for their dedication in UCR students' mental health and/or substance misuse prevention.

Requirements:

Be an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at UCR.
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Be involved in promoting well-being by making a positive impact to UCR students' mental health or substance misuse prevention

Submit your application by February 24, 2025 at 10PM!

Student applications for The Orion Fund 2024-2025 Annual Grant Program are due Tuesday February 25,2025!

Every year The Orion Fund provides grants for California college students in health crisis. We now work with 65+ California colleges and universities to provide grants for uncovered medical costs, educational and living costs. In March 2024, we awarded 47 grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 to students with health crises from car crashes to cancer.

Wednesday, February 26 from 2 to 3 PM In Tartan and Tweed.

Get help with: Spring 25registration, graduation progress, understanding degree audit, campus resources, and general questions.

You don't need to be a CHASS major for help.

SDRC, SDU, and the LGBT Resource Center will be hosting this year's Ability Ball!

Ability Ball is a show featuring UCR students and groups who will showcase their talents and skills with the purpose of raising disability awareness.

Do you sing, dance, play an instrument? Have any other talentyou would like to showcase? The Ability Ball is currently seeking UCR studentsto perform.

This event will be taking place on Friday,  February 21from 12:00 PM to 2 PM in HUB 269.

Reminders & Evaluations

E-text/Alternate Media Accommodations

Please submit your Alternate Media Requests for Winter  2025 using the Alternate Format Textbooks module on the R'Ability website<https://rability.ucr.edu/clockwork/custom/misc/index> as soon as course materials are announced. Required course material will be prioritized. Requests may take longer than 2 weeks to fulfill. Please email sdrc-at at ucr.edu<mailto:sdrc-at at ucr.edu> if you have any questions or concerns.

Students are highly encouraged to purchase e-text versions of required textbooks. When e-text is not available, the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) works with the campus bookstore, the publishers, and other partners to provide course materials in e-text formats. To avoid delays, it is best to purchase e-versions of all available textbooks.
