[Ucr-sdrc] Become a SDRC Peer Mentor for the 24-25 school year

 Greetings SDRC Students,



Our SDRC Peer Mentoring Program is expanding, and in preparation for the 2024-2025 school year, we want to extend this opportunity to you. The program’s mission is to empower first-year and transfer students in understanding their disability and familiarizing themselves with the resources and services available on campus.



SDRC Peer Mentors must meet the following qualifications:

  1.  Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  2.  Have a permanent disability
  3.  Be enrolled at UCR as a student next school year (2024-2025)





Training will consist of two day workshops during Week 0  of the Fall 2024 quarter (Tuesday, 9/24 and Wednesday, 9/25). Mentors will also meet once a month to check-in with a lead peer mentor and/or the program’s advisor.

Commitment: You would serve as a mentor to your assigned mentee(s) for at least one academic school year.

Benefits: As a volunteer mentor, you will have the chance to enhance your self-awareness and social awareness and networking skills. Additionally, you can use this experience as a valuable co-curricular activity to incorporate in your resume or academic portfolio.
