Management 1.0 Workshop Series

If time management is an area for improvement for you or you have a planner/organizer that's waiting to be used, then, this is a workshop you may want to attend.  The goal of the Time Management Workshop Series 1.0 Series is to assist students [registered with SDRC] in evaluating the necessary work and personal time management skills needed while being a student at UCR and to develop an organizational system that documents/tracks their daily routines/habits.

Sessions will consist of  3 one-hour sessions in-person on the following dates:

Session 1:  Tuesday, October 4th at 4pm-5pm

Session 2:  Tuesday, October 11th at 4pm-5pm

Session 3: Tuesday, October 18th at 4pm-5pm

Tech Tools for Note Taking
Note taking in the college setting can be intimidating; learn about various methods that can assist with note taking and become acquainted with tech tools that can be helpful for note taking.

Fireside Chat with Tee Franklin
Representation of Intersecting Identities in the Media
Come join us for a fireside chat with Tee Franklin as we discuss visibility of disabled people with intersecting identities and the importance of representation.
Tee Franklin is a DC Comics writer of the GLAAD nominated HARLEY QUINN series. She is the first Black woman to write Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.  She's also the first Black woman writer with multiple series by Image Comics. She hopes to pave the way for more marginalized comic creators. Tee is a Black, Queer, mom of adult children, disabled, autistic and a wheelchair user just bursting with personality.

Work with a SDRC Peer Mentor
As you prepare to transition to UCR, you may benefit from working with a peer mentor.  SDRC Peer Mentors are able to assist with navigating today's challenges, offer tips when needed, and provide guidance throughout Fall 2022 quarter and, if requested, throughout the academic school year.  A peer mentor has experienced similar challenges as yourself and will be able to help.
Peer mentors have participated in extensive training, and will continue to partake in ongoing skills-development training throughout the year. Our mentors understand the importance of confidentiality and are prepared to direct you to available resources when needed.
